A Solon Salute to MHS Club Action. This club recently launched their own website. Their website also features the launch of their Peer Tutoring Program! If you are interested in serving as a tutor, and/or would like the benefit of connecting with a peer tutor during school hours, please click here to fill in their corresponding forms. Very well done Club Action!

A Solon Salute to Oskar Neuburger who recently presented his session "High School Sucks, Now What?" at the Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers MH/VT Conference. Well done Oskar!

A Solon Salute to the MHS/U32 Debate Team. On March 29th & 30th, they participated in the Iroquois Districts Tournament that is the regional qualifying tournament for the National Speech and Debate Tournament to be held in Dallas, Texas in June 2019. The team had eight participants and a fun and stimulating weekend. Great thanks to all the three parent chaperone/judges: Ryan Humke, Daniel Sagan and Chris Rohan. They obtained the following results: Public Forum Debate: Kayl Humke and Basil Humke 1st place and qualifying for nationals, Andi Dates and Noam Hessler 3rd place, and Mara Stephens and Sina Fallahi 4th place. Congressional Debate: Sonya Sagan-Dworsky 3rd place and qualifying for nationals, and Neil Rohan 4th place. US Extemporaneous speaking: Noam Hessler 4th place. These are great results given that 6 out of 8 of the students participating were freshman who joined the team this year."

A Solon Salute to Megan Krussman, who has explored her interest in Veterinary Science this semester and last through a several CBL experiences. Megan engaged in a semester-long shadow at Bear Swamp Veterinary Clinic during the fall, attended the Vermont Veterinary Tech Association's Continuing Education Meeting in November, participated in several shadows at Waterbury Veterinary Hospital, and recently completed a month-long shadow at Onion River Animal Hospital (ORAH). Megan recently secured employment for this summer at ORAH and admission to The Island School for the spring semester next year. We salute you, Megan!

A Solon Salute to Eva Stumpff, Zella McMahon, and Ben Richardson-Skinder for testifying to the Senate Education Committee in support of tuition-free college. Your testimonies were very thoughtful.

Both of those groups recently made contributions to the MHS Boosters Club in support of the strong connections and positive relationship between MHS and their groups. Thank you so much! And if others are interested in making donations to the Boosters, you can do so at via their website: MHS Boosters Fundraising.
