A Solon Salute goes out to the girls' gymnastic team who placed 6th in the state with a score of 104! What an unbelievable display of athleticism and heart they put on. The team says goodbye to their lone senior, Jenna Krussman, but will have the majority of the team back next year. Great season, Solons!
Congratulations to our girls' basketball team who made it to the Division 2 playoffs against Fair Haven. Although the team lost in the first round, they worked hard to get there and we're proud of them! Great work team Solons!
A Solon Salute goes out to Anja Rand for her accomplishment this ski season in qualifying for the U-16 Regional championships! She'll be representing Vermont this weekend in Chittenden, VT as one of the top 24 U-16 skiers in the state. Way to go Anja!

COVID-19: As students return from winter break, we want to update you on the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) as there has been extensive media coverage. MRPS is working with the Vermont Department of Health and Agency of Education to be prepared in the event there is a case reported in our region. As of 03/01/20, there were no human cases confirmed in Vermont. However, we want to do our part to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and respond effectively. The health and safety of students and staff members is our top priority.
District Late Start: Wednesday, March 11th. School will start at 10:00 am. Here is the 2 hour Delay Schedule.
SBAC Testing: All 9th graders will have the SBAC administered on 4/6, 4/7, 4/13, 4/14 from 8-10 am. Additionally, 11th graders will have the science SBAC administered on 4/13. We will have a 2-hour late start schedule for 4/6, 4/7, 4/13, 4/14. Here is the 2 hour Delay Schedule.

Montpelier High School Parent Conferences, March 16 – 20, 2020
- Conference sign-ups will be open March 4, at 9:00 a.m. – March 12 at midnight
- Parents will be able to sign up online for 15 minute conferences with each teacher. Teachers will only be available to meet with parents who have scheduled appointments.
- Here is the link to access the MRPS webpage for scheduling parent conferences. The link will open on March 4th at 9:00 am and close at March 12th at midnight.

- May 30, 2020: Prom at Vermont College of Fine Arts
- June 12, 2020: Graduation 5:00 pm and Project Grad Night
- Senior dues can be mailed in to Kim Kidney c/o MHS 5 High School Drive Montpelier, VT 05602 OR your student can bring their payment to the main office. Dues are $60 and are due by February 21. Parents may contact Kim if this presents a hardship. 225-8003 or kimk@mpsvt.org.
Grease is on its way - racing through rehearsals and planning work! We are pumped to have such a large group working on this pricey project. In order to help the club raise some funds, we are hoping to partner with some local businesses. We are offering ad space in our production program.

Spring Sports Informational Meeting: On March 16th at 7 pm in the MHS gym, we will host the spring sports informational meeting. Anyone interested in playing a spring sport should attend this meeting. It is for both parents and players.

A presentation on sexting and social media will be offered on March 19th at 7 pm in the MHS auditorium. Officer Diane Mathews and Detective Matt Knisley from the MPD will be presenting.
Free week-long sleep away summer camp on the VT Tech Campus for entering 10th-12th grade students! National Summer Transportation Institute explores transportation (trains, planes, buses, etc) with fun field trips, career connections, and academic connections to math, science, and English. Come spend a week learning and building your job skills!

The Montpelier Fall Festival (https://www. montpelierfallfestival.com/) committee is searching for the right person to help support their fundraising efforts. All the proceeds from this event benefit all four parent groups formally and officially called MRPS Partners in Education. Visit our website at https://www.mrpspie.org/
Our goal this year (2020) is to raise $20,000 from corporate and local sponsors. These funds cover operational costs and low cost or free admission for families, children, and community members. We have spent the past four years building relationships with local funders that support this event.
