A Solon Salute to the MHS custodial staff who put in extra hours and effort to make graduation and the special events of the final weeks of school happen. The team set up and took down 800 chairs--even with the chair truck having to be towed in late on Friday!
A Solon Salute to the Class of 2018. Congratulations on your graduation. You did an excellent job during the Senior Day of Service and during the graduation ceremony. The seniors helped weed the community garden, improve the Mountaineers field, work on the hoop house, and clear out the MHS stage storage. A Solon Salute the MHS QSA and advisor, Sylvia Fagin. The QSA hosted graduating members, Rachel Sucher, Avi Isaacs-Corcoran, Liam Frey, and Len Sawyer for our second annual Lavender Graduation. The ceremony was beautiful, thank you and congratulations.
A Solon Salute to Sean Sullivan. Sean is pictured here with retired teachers Mary Redmond and Paula Dolan receiving the Washington County Retired Educators scholarship. The scholarship is given each year to graduating senors who reside in or attend school in Washington County and plan to major in education at college in the fall.
A Solon Salute to Quim Comas Colomer. Quim built this excellent bench in Woodworking and Design. He plans to give it to his Montpelier host family before heading back home this summer.
A Solon Salute to the Project Grad Committee, their advisor Barb Austin-Hutchins and chaperones Myles Chater and Andrea Myotte. Participating seniors enjoyed a fun evening after graduation at Spare Time in Colchester with laser tag, bowling, massage, henna, arcade games, and a hypnotist.

A Solon Salute to Ryan McSweeney for his efforts to raise money for those in need due to the recent Volcano in Guatemala. Money raised with go to Mayan Families Relief Fund. With the help of Spanish teacher Meegan Winslow, they enlisted the generous Mr. Tillotson for a pie-in-the-face fundraiser. Thank you to all of you!

A Solon Salute to senior Stella Kahn for her Bottle Tree project. Members of the school community enjoyed the beautiful display and interactive art/poem experience throughout the end of the week. Great job Stella!

Owl Sculpture Go-Fund-Me:
- Art teacher Barb Austin-Hutchins is collaborating with MHS alumni Sean Williams to raise money for a 10 foot tall original granite sculpture to be placed in the MHS roundabout. For more details on the project click: "Life is short, art is long."

June 28th: We are hosting a blood drive at MHS. We are looking for as much support from our community as possible to make it happen. In order to donate blood, you need to be over 16 years old and have parent permission.
