A Solon Salute to all those who made the Soccer-Jersey-Thank You to Montpellier, France possible. Sue Monmaney and Adam Blair provided heroic level support on audio/visual needs. Jackson Markow pitched in too. Thank you to Noel Riby-Williams for serving as the student speaker, Mike Martin in representing Montpelier Public Schools, Tom A. and John B. for the setup, Brian G. for letting us use the gym during a class, and Matt Link for organizing the participating students. Thanks also to Jamie and Sue at City Hall for their collaboration and all of the participating students. The story was picked up by the Associated Press again, so the news traveled around the globe. A Solon Salute to members of the Interact Club: Emily Sheftman, Brynn Bushey, Josie Gingold, Isabelle Francke, and Ruby Bryant who helped prepare Thanksgiving meals for members of the community who needed the support. Thanks Interact!
A Solon Salute to the Unified Bowlin' Solons for a great showing of
team spirit and real fine bowling at the Central Vermont Bowling
competition versus U32 and Harwood this past week!
A Solon Salute to Mr. Gallagher's Personal Wellness Class. The class prepared fitness lessons and a video to share with UES' 3rd grade class with Mr. Riby-Williams. This past week they visited to share the lessons in person.
A Solon Salute to the Barb Austin-Hutchins and the Project Grad Team who hosted the Winter Ball over the weekend. A big thank you to all of the chaperones and volunteers!
A Solon Salute to Violet Tabacco, Lila Markow, Avery Paull, Alex Boes, Evan Rohan, Kali
Kahn, and January Simpson. They did an outstanding job representing Montpelier
High School at the Vermont Youth Climate Summit at UVM. They attended
numerous workshops and are returning to school with many great ideas to
combat climate change.
