A Solon Salute to Theresa Noonan for organizing, coordinating and even rescheduling the blood drive held on Friday. When faced with not doing the blood drive, she stepped up and pulled it off, pretty much single-handed. Great job Theresa! (From Mr. Chater)

A Solon Salute to coach Jerry Tillotson and our Scholar's Bowl Team. The team hosted the state playoff tournament and won the small school state championship!
- Our Scholars' Bowl team won the small school state championship. The small school state championship round takes place during the state playoffs traditionally hosted by Montpelier High School. The varsity team of Jackson Markow, Matt Koucky, Graham Janson, and Nathan Grutchfield went 3-2 in the preliminaries defeating Lamoille, Mt. Mansfield, and St. Johnsbury, losing only to Essex, which went undefeated on the day, and Middlebury, which ended the competition at 4-1. In the small school state championship semifinals Montpelier defeated Black River 310-195, and then upended defending champs BFA-Fairfax 445-75. Montpelier now advances to the state finals at UVM on March 25, where we will look to take the state championship outright.
- Our two junior varsity teams also had great success on Saturday. George Huang, Angus Fraser, Asa Richardson-Skinder, and Rachel Sucher went 4-1 defeating North Country, Burlington, South Burlington, and Essex. Henry Jones, Henry Valentine, Cole Bingham, and Anders Shenholm finished with a very respectable 3-2, again competing against much larger schools--defeating Lamoille, Essex, and Rice.
A Solon Salute to all of our Play Mentors. Last week a few of our mentors were featured in Union Elementary School's Wise Owl. Thank you to these young leaders!
