2016-17: Week 5

A Solon Salute to Jeremy Hoyne Grosvenor. His 15:46 performance last weekend at the High School Cross Country Manchester Invitational was the second fastest time for the 5K Cross Country in the history of Vermont! Special recognition for his hard work and the great coaching of Tim Noonan and Tim Shea. We salute you!

A Solon Salute to the Girls' Soccer team who spent their Saturday raising money for their program!

A Solon Salute to Emery Brush and Rachael Cummings for presenting the videos they created as part of their experience with Conversations From the Open Road. Their focus was home insecurity. They spent time in Boston interviewing homeless people to better understand this environmental-economic-political-cultural justice issue. The footage and reflections from those interviews served as the basis for their films. Rachael and Emery were eloquent and articulate (as well as funny!) sharing their experiences and learning during a thoughtful Q & A with their audience--a packed house at Burlington City Arts on September 29th. Here you'll find "Spare Change" Emery's video and "Help" Rachael's video. We salute you! (From Steph DiLena).

A Solon Salute to Lexie Drew for her game winning goal last Tuesday and to Maralina Moore for her game winning goal on Friday. And to Clayton Winters for capturing another great goal on video!
