A Solon Salute to the MHS Student Council and The Bromley-Laidlaw TAs for their respective toy and non-perishable food drive for Montpelier food pantry. There was a nice size pile of toys for donation and food drive had the following results:
Congratulations to Ceckler's & DMA's TA who donated 416 cans! For their victory, they will receive a pizza lunch from Positive Pie.
Honorable mention goes to:
- 2nd place - Sather/McLane/Fagin & Signorino with 358 cans, and
- 3rd place - Cook & Machnik TA with 197 cans.
Most importantly, A Solon Salute to the entire school community for raising a total of 1860 cans (cans and money combined). Your efforts will truly support those in need this winter. -Mr. Laidlaw
A Solon Salute to Barb Austin's Hutchins art classes and visiting teacher Michiko Oisho of the the Japan America Society of Vermont and the Asian Studies Outreach Program. Michiko brought in beautiful fresh flowers to show the students the art of Japanese flower arrangement--ikebana.
A Solon Salute to Silvan, Chloe, Chase, Jordan, Kayla, and Jalen! Thank you, again, for stepping up and helping the folks at The Food Pantry yesterday. I heard one of you say how good it felt to volunteer, and, honestly, that made my heart light and sooo happy! : ) Making a positive difference is something each of you do every day, I'm sure.
