A Solon Salute to all of the 10th and 11th graders that took the PSATs last week! Great job seeing this challenge and opportunity through. A Solon Salute also and to the clean team and guidance who made the set up and the test possible. Especially the kitchen staff who kept the kitchen open until 1pm to make sure everyone had lunch! A Solon Salute from Mr. Chater: I would like to offer a Solons Salute to Val Berlanger, Barb Austin-Hutchins and Former - Assistant to the Principal Pearl Bugbee. 18 years ago, during the last major renovation to the High School, when the science wing and Library were being added to the building structure, during the design stages, the plan was to remove the beautiful maple tree that is now the centerpiece of the courtyard. Val, Barb, and Pearl spoke up and strongly requested that the tree be saved. They were prepared to chain themselves to the tree but it did not come to that! This week several students have commented on how beautiful the tree is. Without their efforts we would just be looking at more bricks and glass. Thank you Val, Barb, and Pearl.
