2018-19: Week 8

10th Annual Fall Harvest Celebration on Thursday (10-18-18)

Dear Parents/Guardians,
  • This Thursday (10-18) we will be holding our 10th Annual Fall Harvest Celebration. This wonderful yearly celebration brings together our entire school community (and some of our community partners) to celebrate together. Each year we have a theme for our celebration. This year's theme is Wellness. We'll have a number of workshops focused on our Wellness theme for both students and faculty/staff to enjoy during the morning. Some of the activities will be taking place off campus in and around the Central Vermont community. Students will find out the finalized list on Tuesday or Wednesday about which workshop(s) they'll be participating in. (Students took a survey to share their workshop preferences last week). If you have any concerns about your student participating in an off campus activity, please let us know. All activities will be chaperoned by MHS faculty/staff. Many thanks!

A Solon Salute to all of the students and faculty that have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming Fall Harvest Celebration!

A Solon Salute to the nine students who participated in the Women Can Do Conference last Thursday. These students had a great time exploring various careers and trying out an array of hands-on activities. Pictured below is Susha Benoit participating in a forensic lab experiment, Jillian Haviland practicing suturing techniques, and Destiney Roberts operating a chainsaw. And thank you to Sarah Loveless for organizing our participation and sending along this Salute!

A Solon Salute to Cabot Sayles, who recently competed on American Ninja Warrior Junior. The episode aired this weekend. Here's a link to an article about the competition. Impressive, Cabot!

A Spooky Solon Salute to all of the MHS Art students who carved over 100 pumpkins for this year’s annual Enchanted Forest at Hubbard Park. Super fine and festival creativity! Follow the MHS Art classes on instragram
