A Solon Salute to Jackson Markow, Violet Tobacco and Neil Rohan who participated in the Speech and Debate National Tournament, that took place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this week. Jackson working in an unfamiliar format of debate such as congressional debate, and Violet and Neil, novice debaters this year, all faced experienced and undoubtedly superior competitors during the nationals tournament. Neither of them "broke" past elimination rounds, they working immensely hard, holding their own and learning precious lessons and skills that they will bring to their team for the next debate season. We wish the best to Jackson, Emily, Omeed, Angus, and George (whom we met at the national tournament) in their future endeavors. (From Coach Marijke Russo)
