A Solon Salute to Matt Koucky. Matt has been accepted at the Iowa Young Writers’ Studio, a nationally competitive summer program in Creative Writing for high school students, hosted by one of the finest writing programs in the country, The University of Iowa.  Congratulations to Matt!

A Solon Salute all of the students that participated in the Pops Concert on Thursday night. Great job to all the musicians and singers!

A Solon Salute to our Green Mt. Youth Symphony members for their Spring Concert on Sunday at the Barre Opera House.

A Solon Salute to The Clean Team’s Rob Morissette and Bob Welch, who helped me to get my car unstuck from the mud lot on Thursday night. Many, many thanks! (From Sarah Loveless).

A Solon Salute to Myles Chater for volunteering to facilitate a class discussion so I could assess the participating students on their academic class discussion skills. This was a beta test and I appreciate Myles’ willingness to be the first—and to give up his planning time to do it! (From Sylvia Fagin).

A Solon Salute to Brian Gallagher who has been chosen as the first place winner for the Vermont High School Grades 9th-12th Teacher of the Year for the Department of Vermont Veterans of Foreign Wars. Congratulations Brian!
